Challenge!

  1. Create a new Word document. If you want, you can use our practice document.
  2. Insert a picture from a file into the document.
  3. Resize the picture.
  4. Find a picture with Bing Image Search and insert it into your document. If you are using the example, search for  computer and insert it in the New Online Resident Portal section.
  5. Change the text-wrapping setting of one of the images. If you're using the example, change the text-wrapping setting of the computer to Through.
  6. Try moving an image to a new location.

Challenge!

  1. Create a new Word document. If you want, you can use our practice document.
  2. Insert an image from a file into the document.
  3. Crop the image. If you're using the example, crop the image in the Pool Re-Opening & Celebration section into the shape of your choosing.
  4. Experiment with different image corrections and color settings.
  5. Add an Artistic Effect to the image. If you're using the example, add an artistic effect to the image in theNew Online Resident Portal section.
  6. Try compressing an image. If you're using the example, compress the image in Memorial Day Barbecuesection.
  7. Remove the background from the image. If you're using the example, remove the background of the image in the Important Contact Info section.

When finished email or share the project documents with Mr. Carnell or Mr. Robinson.

  1. Turn on Track Changes.
  2. Delete some text.
  3. Add some text.
  4. Change some of the text formatting.
  5. Experiment with the Display for Review command.
  6. Accept all of the changes, then turn off Track Changes.

Continuing toward Word Skills

Today the students will be working through their typing to start the class.

After finishing the video the students must complete the following assignment

  1. Convert some text into a table. If you are using the example, convert the text below the Sabrosa Company Label.
  2. Apply a table style, and experiment with the Table Style Options.
  3. Insert a column into the table.
  4. Delete a row from the table.
  5. Insert a blank table with six rows and two columns.
  6. Add borders to the blank table.
Once Finished Save and Share with Mr. Robinson or Mr. Carnell.

When finished with the tutorial they need to complete the following Assignment

  1. Insert a new chart. If you're using the example, edit the data for the chart by deleting the data from October through December.
  2. Try changing the chart type and layout.
  3. Switch the row and column data.
  4. Apply a chart style. If the new style includes a chart title or any labels, edit them.
Save and share with Mr. Robinson or Mr. Carnell

Today the students will be continuing to learn the program Microsoft Word.

First they will spend the first 10 minutes of class on their Typing.com Accounts.

Today in Computer Applications - Typing.com, Word Introduction, and Sketchup

Today the students will be learning the regular schedule of the class.  They will be signing up for Typing.com accounts to learn proper typing skills.

Use Last Name and Last 4 of your Student ID for you User Name

Use your Birthday with 4 digit year for your Password!

Once the students have signed up they will begin working on Typing Instructor.


Next they will be introduced to the basics of Microsoft Word.  They will be completing the following Educanon.com Modules.  Students must score an 80% or higher on each Educanon Module to receive credit for the assignment.  If they do not score 80% or higher they will need to retake the module.
